Sarkozy's fiancee pregnant: Report

Carla Bruni, the fiancee of French president Nicolas Sarkozy is pregnant with his child - less than two months after their high-profile love affair began, a media report has said.
The pregnancy of Bruni, a former supermodel, has been confirmed by doctors in Paris, the Daily Mail of Britain reported on Friday quoting French website 20minutes.fr as saying.
"I am told that she had a scan and the pregnancy was confirmed," reporter Allain Jules said, adding he received the information from a source at the American Hospital in the Paris suburb of Neuilly, where Bruni had been last week for a scan.
The couple met at a party in November, just one month after the president divorced his ex-wife Cecilia, also a former model.
"If she is indeed pregnant it may explain why they are planning to marry so soon after meeting," Jules said about recent media reports that the two lovers may be planing to get married in February.
The news will only add fuel to the fire started by the former First Lady, who has branded the French leader a 'stingy philanderer' with a 'behavioural problem' and an 'unworthy president' of France.
"There is a ridiculous side to him. He is not dignified. He is an unworthy president of the Republic. He has a behavioural problem," Sarkozy's ex-wife is quoted as saying of the president in a book, 'Cecilia', written by journalist Anna Biton. She has attacked the French leader as "a man who likes no-one, not even his children".
The former French First Lady has instructed lawyers "to initiate all necessary actions for the protection of her rights in regard to statements attributed to her in extracts from the book", the Daily Telegraph of Britain reported on Friday.

Fashion critics give Britney a break

It seems that fashion critics are being sympathetic to Britney Spears.
Not only did the troubled pop star escape Mr. Blackwell's well-known worst dressed list, she was also spared from PETA's celebrity style poll.
The ‘Toxic’ singer was a frontrunner in PETA's recently launched worst dressed celebrity poll.
However, organizers have removed her from the running, in wake of her well-publicised meltdown and ensuing hospitalisation.
Organizers felt that Spears would recover better from her legal and emotional miseries if they would spare her from the poll.
"At this point, Britney needs a break – from everybody. Maybe when her head is clear, she'll have a change of heart about wearing fur,” People quoted PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews, as saying.
“If not, we'll be back biting at her heels," he added.
Supermodel Kate Moss is now leading PETA’s celebrity style poll, which is yet to be finalised.
"Nothing completes the transition from supermodel to super tramp like a fur coat," Mathews said.
The list continues with fur wearers Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth, Jamie Foxx, Kid Rock, Mary J. Blige, Eva Longoria, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Vanessa Williams.
